I’ve never been so happy to see April because it seems like the weather is finally changing! Honestly, all the snow these past few months has been frustrating and depressing. It seems like spring is finally arriving! April is also my birthday month, and I’ll be celebrating by having a Frozen themed party 🙂
Disney in your Day news
The most exciting thing I have to share with you was announced about a week ago – I’ll be doing a Disney Running Gear Guide! And as part of that guide there will be lots of reviews and giveaways of Disney running related items. Even if you’re not a runner, there’s cute outfits and things that could be useful for any type of fitness – or even every day wearing! Right now I have enough giveaways planned for one a week for the next three months, so you’ll be in luck!
Aside from the guide coming, there are some Disney related things I’ll be doing this month that you can expect to see. I’ll post about my Frozen themed birthday party. I’m also going to see Aladdin on Broadway, so you’ll definitely hear about that! You may also be seeing a guest blogger sharing her Disney dining experiences, which I can’t wait to hear about. And this isn’t exactly Disney related, but I’m running the Hershey 10k this month, so I may do a post on the differences between a Disney race and another big race if people are interested.
We’re up to the letter U – a little trickier than a letter like S or T! But when I think of U, I think of Under the Sea. So here are a few of my Disney World “Under the Sea” inspired pictures:

So I will be the first to admit that I was a little nervous that this movie wasn’t going to be too great. The reviews have been rather lukewarm, and I loved the 2011 Muppets movie so much I didn’t think it could live up (which the Muppets fully admit in their opening song, where they sing that “The sequel’s never quite as good”). Despite that, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the movie and how good it actually was!
I think the reviews out there are too harsh on the film. The only criticism I agree with is one review that said the movie was rather “light on Muppets.” And it’s true that a lot of the focus seems to be on the human cast rather than the Muppets. Miss Piggy, Kermit, and Walter get a decent amount of time, but many of our favorites don’t do too much at all. The Muppet that seems to get the most airtime is Constantine, our bad guy – and while his shtick is funny, I miss my classic Muppets a bit.
During this past trip I was very excited because we had booked a Royal Room at Port Orleans Riverside! First of all, I absolutely love the Port Orleans Riverside resort. It’s special to us because it’s where we spent our honeymoon, and it’s also just beautiful. The Royal Rooms are in a building that is conveniently located – not too far from the main building, one of the bus stops, the main pool and a smaller pool.
The “story” behind these rooms is that Princess Tiana owns the place, and all the other princesses came to visit. And in order to help decorate the rooms, the princesses left Tiana mementos. There’s a cute letter explaining all of this from Tiana – a “copy” of the letter is painted onto the table, but you also get your own paper copy to keep when you check in.
Today marks a milestone for the Disney in your Day blog – this is the 100th post! It’s pretty exciting, and the blog has come a long way in less than a year. I’m always looking for ways to make it better and very open to suggestions, so if there’s anything you want to see please let me know!
In honor of 100 posts, I wanted to do something exciting for my readers. So I figured it was the perfect time to announce the new project I’ve been working on! During October and November the Disney Etsy Holiday gift guide was a big hit. And now, I have another guide I’ve been working on:
The Disney Running Gear Guide.
This guide will feature tons of stuff for Run Disney fans: running skirts, tutus, shirts, jewelry, medal holders, and lots more! There will be plenty of reviews, but I know the exciting part for you all is that we will be featuring a number of giveaways too! Even if you’re not a runner there may still be things you’re interested in. Or perhaps the chance to win some of these amazing items will be the encouragement you need to start running – Disney in the place to do it! We currently have over 10 giveaways in the works!
I’m hoping to get the guide up by mid-April, and then I will be featuring reviews and giveaways throughout April, May, and June. I’m so excited for this and I hope you are too!
Last year I got to attend the Flower and Garden festival at Epcot for the first time. I absolutely loved it! The flowers, the topiaries, and the food – all was amazing. I hope I get to go back someday, but until then here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip:

In her shop, Nicole offers lots of beautiful rhinestone shirt designs perfect the Disney lover, and especially for Disney brides. Her designs are creative and really high quality. She sent me an awesome shirt to review, and customized it for my anniversary! I can’t wait to wear it this September.
There are lots of beautiful, sparkly rhinestones. None of them fell off at any point – not during shipping, wearing it for awhile, or even going through the wash. Everything about it is high quality. I was also impressed with the shirt used. It didn’t feel cheap at all and was very comfortable.
For me, one of the most exciting parts of running the Enchanted 10k was getting to plan out my costume! I love costumes of any sort but especially Disney ones. I didn’t want to do anything super elaborate since I did have to run in it. And since it was my first Disney race, and a Princess one at that, I knew I had to pick my absolute favorite Princess: Belle. So if you’re looking for ideas for an easy Belle costume, here’s what I did!
