Stitch Fix Review – January 2015

stitch fixMy third stitch fix came in the mail!  I kept requesting the same stylist, Julie, because she really listened to what I wanted and has done a good job so far.  And I’ve been lucky that they always give me her!  I’ve been reading a lot of other Stitch Fix reviews on blogs, and it’s been fun.  Please note that I am not a model at all.  So in the pictures you will basically see the same three poses, and I won’t be going out in the snow or anything for a better backdrop!

Humphrey Streak Print Dress – $88.00

I had asked for another long sleeved dress, since I liked the one in my last fix but it didn’t fit right.  This one was really cute, a little different, and would be perfect to wear casually or for work.  Only problem was the price – $88 for a dress!  That’s so much!  Ultimately though, I liked it far better than anything else in my fix, so I decided to go for it.  What really pushed it over the edge for me was the fact that it was both machine washable and able to be tumble dried.  Verdict:  Keep.

Isaac Floral Print Tab-Sleeve Blouse – $48.00

This shirt was a totally different style than what I would normally wear.  I’m not big on floral patterns, but it wasn’t too bad – though my husband said it looked like “an old lady shirt”. But it was completely see through so definitely needed a tank underneath.  Also, the sleeves were rather tight on me.  Verdict:  Return.

Moni Stud Detailed 3/4 Sleeve Blouse – $58.00

This style of this shirt was okay.  However, the fact that it was black made it a little boring for me.  Plus, I’m not much of a studs person.  It fit well, but wasn’t something I would spend $58 on.  Verdict:  Return.

Aleah Heathered V-Neck Dolman Top – $48.00

I kept going back and forth about how I felt on this shirt.  I loved the deep maroon color, and the style of the shirt, except for the sleeves with all that extra fabric.  Some people can pull it off well, but I couldn’t decide if I liked how it looked on me.  My husband said it was a “flying squirrel shirt.”  I went back and forth a long time on this one, because I couldn’t convince myself to spend the money on the dress at first – if I got a shirt instead it would have been this one or the next one.  The downside to this one was that it wasn’t machine washable.  Verdict:  Return.

Leighton Boat Neck Knit Shirt – $58.00

Ultimately if I had decided not to get the dress, I probably would have kept this shirt.  I liked the color of it, and it was very comfortable.  Plus it was machine washable (hang to dry).  But I felt like I could probably find something cheaper for less money at Target or a place like that.  Verdict:  Return.

Overall I liked this fix, and if money was no option I would be keeping three out of the five items – and honestly, if they were gifted to me for free all of them are something I would wear!  Julie is pretty on the ball I think!  Next fix will be March, and I plan to ask for some cardigans.

If you’re interested in signing up for your own Fix, I would love it if you’d use my referral link – it would give me a $25 credit to use on a future fix, and doesn’t cost you anything.  I used a friend’s link when I signed up for mine so I could help her out, so I know it’s much appreciated!

  1. I definitely agree with your choice here. The dress looks great on you and it can be classic or casual with the right accessories so it is worth the price. Btw I liked the old lady shirt but I guess that’s because…
