This past week I got the opportunity to go see Disney’s Frozen on Ice at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. This was my third Disney on Ice show there, but not surprisingly it was much more crowded than the other two that I attended. Lots of little girls in Elsa and Anna costumes, and a few little boys dressed as Olaf, too!
They had the typical food and souvenirs set out, but of course most things were Frozen themed. I still can’t get over how crazy expensive these items are, but people pay it! There were snow cones in Anna and Elsa cups, as well as one in an Olaf cup (that cost $3 extra, making that a $15 snow cone). Then there was cotton candy that came with an Olaf hat, and popcorn in a Mickey and friends bag. You can see some of the souvenirs in the pictures, but they had dolls, figurines, necklaces, and plenty of light up toys!
The show itself began with a little pre-show that involved some of the cast members dancing, then introducing Mickey and Minnie. They in turn brought out some of our Disney favorites, including a number of princesses, Donald Duck, Nemo, and Timon and Pumbaa. Finally it was time for Frozen on Ice to begin!
Sorry this round up is a little late – there were lots of other exciting posts I wanted to make sure I got out this week, like a Maleficent tutu and my review of the Maleficent movie! Lots of love going around for the evil fairy this week. It’s June, which means summer is starting soon! And it also means that very soon, Disney in your Day will be a year old! I’m sure we’ll try to have some fun posts and giveaways for that 🙂
It seems to me like there’s been a ton of news and interesting blog posts lately, so let’s get down to it!
Disney in your Day news
I know that last month I mentioned bringing back the restaurant tournament for resort restaurants – but there were so many great items in the running gear guide and other things happening that I didn’t get around to it. Hopefully for June! The running gear guide will still be posting items all this month and maybe into July, so make sure you check out our giveaways! I also start training for the Tower of Terror 10 miler run this week, so I’m going to post periodic updates about that for others who may be curious about the process of training for a Disney run.
On January 3rd, my husband and I attended Disney on Ice: Let’s Celebrate! when it came to Philadelphia. We had been to Rockin’ Ever After last year and really enjoyed it, so we were excited for this one. We don’t have kids, and I will say that we were definitely in the minority on that one. It’s certainly a show that is geared toward children and not adults, but if you’re a true Disney fan at heart I think you’ll enjoy it regardless. It’s a fun, feel-good time.
