Kill: Friendship Boats
Maybe I’m forgetting some things when it comes to transportation, but I’m only killing this because I didn’t have anything else I would have rather killed. At the Boardwalk (and Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Swan/Dolphin) there is a boat that goes to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. It sounds nice, and I like a good boat ride. But my experiences with it have been less than positive. The boat ride takes a really long time. I don’t remember how long but it felt like quite awhile for me to get from Boardwalk to HS. Since it stops at a number of resorts you have to go along with it and wait for people to get on and off. And if you’ve got a big crowd it may be a wait as well – especially if you’re travelling early in the morning or trying to get back to the resorts after the park closes. I’m not a huge fan of killing it though because it’s one of the only ways to get around from this area aside from walking (which is my preference, really). Maybe a faster boat? Or build a monorail to Hollywood Studios 😉 Walt absolutely loved the monorail idea and I know he would love to see more of them!
During this past trip I was very excited because we had booked a Royal Room at Port Orleans Riverside! First of all, I absolutely love the Port Orleans Riverside resort. It’s special to us because it’s where we spent our honeymoon, and it’s also just beautiful. The Royal Rooms are in a building that is conveniently located – not too far from the main building, one of the bus stops, the main pool and a smaller pool.
The “story” behind these rooms is that Princess Tiana owns the place, and all the other princesses came to visit. And in order to help decorate the rooms, the princesses left Tiana mementos. There’s a cute letter explaining all of this from Tiana – a “copy” of the letter is painted onto the table, but you also get your own paper copy to keep when you check in.
I’m hoping now that March is here, it’s a sign that spring really is coming soon! Certainly doesn’t feel like it yet, but it has to come eventually! I was lucky enough to be able to be in the warmth down in Orlando last week, so I figured for my March calendar shots sharing some of my favorites from our trip would be appropriate!
Awhile ago I sat down and wrote out my own Disney Bucket List, and shared it on the blog Come Home to Disney. But since then I’ve added things to the list and I wanted to give you updates on my progress for each item. Even though I’ve been to Disney numerous times, there are still lots of things I really want to do there. Here is my list, including what I’ve already done from it… and I’m sure it will grow as time goes on too! In later blog posts I hope to share some details about the ones that I’ve checked off and what my experiences were like.
