A Look Back at 2013

2013 was the birth of Disney in your Day.  I started the blog in July, and it’s been a fantastic half a year.  This post marks my 64th published post on this blog!  I wanted to take the time to look back at some of the top posts (not counting giveaways, because those are always the most popular), in case you missed them, and also give thanks to some of my biggest supporters this year.

Top 10 posts of 2013

P105011310.  Never Have I Ever at Walt Disney World
It’s crazy to think there are things even crazy Disney fans haven’t done, but the parks are so huge that odds are good there are things you haven’t experienced.  I shared my list of attractions at Disney that I’ve never done.

P10803669Etsy Spotlight: Amanda Jane Designs
Many of the Etsy Spotlights we did this year were popular, but Amanda Jane Designs is the only one to make our top 10 posts.  And it’s well deserving, too, as she makes some simply beautiful Disney jewelry.  Check out her shop!

8.  What happens when your flight to Disney gets delayed or cancelled
I wrote this one on the plane after a very frustrating series of delays and cancellations on my way to Disney World. It seems I’m not the only one who has had a lot of troubles flying, because many people read and commented on this one.

Ascendio 209

7.  Kill, Refurb, Marry: WDW Resorts
This is a great game that my friends over at Mouse on the Mind and This Happy Place Blog have started, and I’ve had a blast playing along.  The resorts one turned out to be the most popular.

6.  Bucket List: Attend a Disney Wedding
There is nothing like a Disney wedding, and many people are extremely interested in the experience.  I was lucky enough to attend 2 in 2013, and wrote about them in this blog post.

Epcot restaurant bracket final

5Epcot Restaurant Bracket
I like a good competition, and seeing how the restaurants in Disney stack up to each other.  The winner of our Epcot restaurant tournament was Le Cellier.  Since then we’ve also done an MK/HS/AK one, where Be Our Guest reigned supreme.  Be on the lookout for a Downtown Disney and Resorts restaurant tournament coming up soon in the new year!

4.  My Disney Bucket List
I was very lucky to be able to check off many items on my Disney Bucket List this year (which I’ll still be doing blog posts about).  Here’s to more to come in 2014!

I could wait in line to meet Merida without anyone complaining!

3.  Traveling to Disney Solo
The fact that this post landed in the top three is very exciting to me, because it means other people are interested in the solo travel experience.  As you may know if you’ve read the post, I can’t recommend going to Disney on your own enough.

2.  Frozen Review
I was lucky enough to see this in a preview, so I got a bit of a sneak peek that I could share with readers.  It was a fantastic movie, so I’m not surprised the review has gotten a lot of hits.

etsy holiday gift guide

1.  Disney Etsy Holiday Gift Guide
Our #1 post of the year.  The Holidays may be over, but that doesn’t mean that you still can’t check out our gift guide!  There are lots of amazingly talented Etsy artists that sell unique Disney items.  If you got any spending money for Christmas now might be the time to treat yourself to something special!

Top 5 Commenters of 2013

I thought it was important to say a special thank you to those that have commented often on my blog.  If you’ve ever tried blogging you’ll know that encouragement is huge, and so these people are the ones that keep me going!

1.  The Animation Commendation (also has a Disney blog, check it out!)
2.  Sue @ Tea, Love, and Cookies (check out her blog too!)
3.  Kylie Lacey (a friend I made from the DisBoards!)
4.  Jenn (she just honeymooned in Disney!)
5.  Debbie Kolacki (thanks mom!)

Thank you for all the support in 2013!  I hope you have a great new year.  I’m excited to think about blogging for 2014.  What are you looking forward to in the new year?
